The drawers open well, and the box is compact and portable. This is a good purchase for storage. If you are looking for something to put on display, you may prefer something more wooden. Also, if you have a lot of dangly earrings, this may not be your best bet. It has a lot of compartments for stud-type earrings, but only about 8 or 10 hooks for necklaces and dangly earrings. I had to double up for my dangly earrings.
